Boom Lake
The fishing will be done on Boom Lake (another name is the Rhinelander Flowage). This particular body of water is roughly 1,800 acres in size and has a good population of Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike and Muskies. It is part of the Wisconsin River system, a tea colored, stained lake with many nooks and crannies, stumpfields, weedbeds, rock points and just about any type of cover/structure that you can shake a stick at.

I decided on Boom Lake because of several factors. First of all, the fishing is good, it's got a good landing with plenty of parking , it's in the same town as the fish fry place so if anyone wants to have a couple of cocktails, they don't have to drive far, dodging deer and sheriff deputies. :)

The launch will take place at Hodag Park in Rhinelander. There is a $3.00 daily launching fee. Good lake maps are available from Fishing Hot Spots .

You have found the internet's home to the upcoming R.O.F.B.M.P. "Northwood's Classic". We're hoping to put all the information in one place, to make things as smooth as possible... Let's go fishing...
